Puerto Rico was devastated by hurricane Maria on September 20, 2017 — the strongest storm to make landfall there since 1928.

The island’s already-fragile electrical grid was completely destroyed. Half of Puerto Rico’s 3.5 million residents still remain without access to clean water. There are widespread major food and fuel shortages. In the face of this humanitarian disaster, the Trump government has repeatedly misinformed the public while carrying out grossly negligent aid distribution.

The Power Puerto Rico Compilation was curated by softcoresoft (Leticia Trandafir) and anabasine (Danji Buck-Moore), founding members of the Lagom collective in Montreal.

"We believe we have a role in creating a better future world through music, and hope this compilation can be a small help in redistributing resources to those who need them most. Making music in a vacuum in 2017 makes no sense."

100% of the proceeds of this compilation will be donated to The Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund, a grassroots organization working on recovery and rebuilding in the areas most affected by Maria. The Fund is housed at the Center for Popular Democracy and is governed by local grassroots organizations like Taller Salud.
